When Maren Morris and Brandi Carlile performed at Carlile's Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Weekend festival in Mexico Saturday night (Feb. 1), the evening featured a big surprise for the festival crowd. Morris announced she's got a new single on the way—and it just happens to be a duet with Carlile, titled "Common."

Morris told the audience that the new single will be out next week for the 2019 Grammy Awards on Feb. 10, where Morris is nominated in five categories. She and Carlile then introduced the crowd to the new tune, saying it was their first time performing the song live. "I know I couldn't be underdressed for this one so I put on a jacket for you" Carlile joked.

The song starts off as a ballad with Morris' vocal talent being showcased, then picks up speed and power with both ladies taking turns at showing off their powerhouse pipes on plaintive lyrics: "We've got way too much in common / So what's the point in hiding / We've got way too many problems / If I'm being honest I don't know where God is / We've got way too much in common."

Morris also performed a duet with husband, Ryan Hurd, serenading the crowd with Tim McGraw's "Last Turn Home," as well as marked her first time officially performing her anthemic single "Girl." The entire crowd seemed to know every lyric to the song.

Next month Morris performs on the Cayman Islands for the KAABOO festival. In March, she kicks off her headlining Girl: The World Tour with support on select dates from Cassadee Pope and RaeLynn.
