This week is Mental Health Awareness Week, and Mara Wilson has a very important message for any teens struggling with anxiety and depression.

Every year, a week out of the month of May is dedicated to raising awareness of mental health/well-being issues. Mara Wilson (you may remember her as Matilda) is an advocate of Project UROK , which is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping teens 13-18 deal with mental illness. Mara mentions in the video below that she has personally struggled with anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder, and that's why this cause is very important to her.

I have also personally struggled with mental health issues from a very young age, as has many of my friends and family, which is why I feel this is a very important message to teens. I commend Mara Wilson for taking the time to share this very necessary message, and I hope everybody learns a little bit about mental health this week!
