The Iowa Hawkeyes are one of only two remaining undefeated teams in college football. Only Clemson also has an unblemished record heading into the weekend. That, combined with a couple other things this past week, moved me to make a passionate case for the Hawks. It's time for Iowa to get the respect they deserve.

Last Friday as I watched the Iowa-Nebraska game it seemed like ALL the commentators wanted to talk about was Nebraska. I know it often feels your team is getting the short end while you watch a game. On Black Friday though, I genuinely felt like they only wanted to talk about the Cornhuskers until it became abundantly clear Iowa was going to win the game. I was flabbergasted. Here's a team that was 11-0 playing one that was 5-6 and the team trying to become bowl eligible was getting all the attention?! The win eased my frustration.

Then earlier this week, I read the comment in the video above that "really chapped my hide," as I said. I don't normally talk like that. I was a little worked up. Actually, I think I may have scared Bridget during the taping. I'm harmless, just VERY passionate when it comes to the Iowa Hawkeyes.

My adrenaline went off the charts to the point of one error in the video above. Iowa hasn't trailed in a game for more than 200 minutes, dating back to the Indiana game. That 720-minutes I referenced is actually the total minutes played by Iowa this year. They've trailed less than eight percent of that time... just over 55-minutes.

Here's hoping Iowa is 60 minutes away from getting the respect of everyone in college football because that would clearly mean a Big Ten Championship and trip to the College Football Playoff. Can you imagine? Can you just imagine?!
