I grew up playing A LOT of baseball. I started in T-ball, moved on to Little League, Sandy Koufax, Pee Wee Reese, and high school ball.  Then there were the afternoon pick-up games in the empty lot next to my buddy's house, in the vacant lot next to the funeral home (when appropriate) near our house, and the hours and hours of whiffle ball my brother and I played in our backyard with a broomstick and a whiffle golf ball.  We actually kept standings and statistics.  Then there were the pros.

I grew up in Illinois as a White Sox fan, but this was before the advent of sports cable networks.  We mainly would get the Cubs on WGN and the Braves on WTBS, but that was ok - it was baseball.  Today marks the beginning of the second half of the 2014 MLB season.  While I enjoy the All-Star break, I am always ready for the second half to get started.  Even if my team isn't in the thick of the hunt, I will watch.  Let's PLAY BALL!
