Talk about a full circle moment! During a recent performance with Ashley Monroe, country star Luke Combs told the story of his first trip to the Grand Ole Opry, where he had tickets to see Monroe, but the evening ended in misadventure.

On that eventful night, Combs was driving with his friend and college roommate when their car broke down. At that point, they were only about halfway to the Opry to see Monroe sing. By the time the boys were able to get another car and finish their drive, the ticket window was already closed.

Defeated, Combs and his friend headed across the street to watch a sports game. While he was there, Combs took a long shot and sent out a tweet out to the country star about their misadventure. "Car broke down on the way to the Opry to see Ashley Monroe, Get the other car and drive 45 minutes ... Ticket office closed, can't get in," Combs wrote.

As luck would have it, Monroe, saw Combs' tweet and invited him to the Opry store to get a signed copy of her album. There, Combs told Monroe that someday they would play on stage together -- and boy, did that statement come true! Recently Monroe's band, the Pistol Annies, shared their first new album in five years. The long-awaited record, Interstate Gospel, features 14 songs full of sass and wit, heartbreak and longing, and astute reflections of the trio's personalities.

Combs is busy working on his upcoming sophomore album and is hitting the road too as he embarks on his Beer Never Broke My Heart Tour. The trek is scheduled to begin at the end of January, with Lanco and Jameson Rodgers opening.
