Local Drivers Score Big Wins Saturday Night At West Liberty

Over 100 cars packed the pit area at the Muscatine County Fairgrounds. Swisher's Kyle Hinrich grabbed his first feature win of the season in the iWireless IMCA Late Model division. Hinrich's lead flag to flag as he took home his 3rd dirt late model feature win of his career. Cayden Carter was 2nd followed by Jonathan Brauns.

Cedar Rapids Johnny Spaw is the man to beat in the Kile Motorsports IMCA Stock Car division. Johnny came from the back of the pack twice to score the impressive win.

The Weikert Iron & Metal IMCA Sportmod feature belonged to Tim Plummer of Norway on Saturday night. Plummer commented in victory lane, “ I wish I would have switched to dirt racing years ago, this racing is the most fun I have ever had in a race car.” Plummer shot to the front from his second row start and went on to score an impressive win ahead of Dan Keltner and Shawn Slaughter.

Saturday, May 21st the West Liberty Raceway will present the Ideal Ready Mix Tri-Track Challenge featuring the iWireless IMCA Late Models competing for 40 laps on the ½ mile with $2,000 going to the winner. All classes will be in action with hot laps taking to the track at 6:30 with racing to follow.
