The Cedar Rapids Kernels defeated the Kane County Cougars, 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Stadium, moving their record on the young season to 18-14.  The Kernels, a Class A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, are currently sitting in 2nd place in the Midwest League Western Division.

The Kernels now hit the road for a 4-game series against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.  They'll return to Cedar Rapids for a week-long homestand May 17th - 23rd.  So far here in the young season, the Kernels have had to play during some cool, dreary weather.  Hopefully next week's home cooking will bring with it some nice spring weather.

The Kernels are coming off of a fantastic 2015 season where they came up just short of the Midwest League championship. Games at Veterans Memorial Stadium are always entertaining... great food, promotions, fireworks and much more! Get your tickets now by clicking here.

To add to the excitement of the new season, the Kernels will host the Midwest League All-Star Game on Tuesday, June 21st!
