Auburn University’s Jordan-Hare Stadium will be trading helmets for amplifiers next spring when it transforms into a concert venue for a night. Kenny Chesney will christen the field with its first-ever concert April 26, 2016, launching his impressive stadium tour for the year with the Music & Miracles Superfest.

The event, presented by the founders of the Chicken Salad Chick Foundation, will be raising funds for two of the greatest needs in the Auburn, Ala. community: fighting cancer and feeding the hungry. Chesney is not only excited to support the cause, but to play the historic venue, which has been home to the Auburn Tigers since 1939.

“There is something about college football that inspires me,” Chesney says. “There is so much heart, so much dignity to playing for the honor of your school. There are, obviously, a lot of good times and great memories made at the games, and those guys on the teams play all out in ways most people don’t realize. Every time I get to play somewhere with the kind of history Auburn has, it pushes me a little harder to really raise the bar. And the mission and heart behind Music & Miracles raises that bar higher still.”

Chesney is bringing along several big names with him on the stadium tour, including Miranda Lambert, Sam Hunt and breakout band Old Dominion. Lambert is up against Chesney this year for CMA Entertainer of the Year, which will be awarded later this fall, and earned two additional nominations. Hunt is also nominated for three awards.

The “Save It for a Rainy Day” singer will play a number of stadium shows in 2016, bringing his career total to 135 stadiums and continuing his record-breaking attendance streaks from this year's The Big Revival tour. Chesney has broken attendance records at Pittsburgh’s Heinz Field, Green Bay’s Lambeau Field, Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field, and Minneapolis’s Target Field (for the third time) in 2015 so far.

“We are gearing up for a very big year next year,” Chesney adds. “I can’t wait to have Miranda and Sam out with us … and there are more surprises for sure. Things people have been asking us for a long time; places we’ve not been – or places we just really love playing. But to be able to start talking about 2016 with something like the Jordan-Hare Stadium? I can’t think of a better way to kick-off what’s going to be an incredible year.”
