Jared Leto received a standing ovation when he was awarded the 2014 Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. It was the first Academy Award for Jared, who won for his role as Rayon, a transgender woman in 'Dallas Buyers Club.'

The '30 Seconds to Mars' musician started off the night on a poignant note by thanking his mother and his older brother, Shannon Leto. Jared also spoke on behalf of all people suffering injustice for being "who you are," saying that he is there on their behalf.
