The NCAA doesn't want to pay players. That's been well-established over the years. However, now they're going to pay the parents? Well, only if your child is part of one of the nation's elite teams.
Have a son who is a member of the the Ohio State Buckeyes or Oregon Ducks football team that does battle Monday night in the College Football Playoff national championship game? Hey, by all means go to the game if you're a parent or guardian of one of the guys and by the way, we'll pay you handsomely to do it.

The NCAA has given a waiver of $1250 for each parent or guardian, yeah $2500 a couple, to help defray the costs of hotel, travel, & meal expenses. The NCAA will do the same for those whose sons or daughters are talented and/or lucky enough to be part of Final Four basketball teams later this year.

No, the NCAA won't pay its players but mom and dad are fair game. For me, the players are more deserving.
