Former Iowa offensive lineman Brandon Scherff lasted a whole 5 picks at last night's NFL Draft in Chicago. The Washington Redskins took Scherff in the 1st round of the draft, the highest a Hawkeye has been drafted since Robert Gallery went 2nd overall in 2004. He becomes the 7th first round pick in the Kirk Ferentz era, and the 4th offensive lineman to go in the first round.

Scherff was regarded as the most NFL ready offensive lineman in the draft. Despite the fact he played left tackle at Iowa, it unsure where he'll play in the NFL. Scherff says he doesn't care if its at guard or tackle, as long as he's on the field.

Rounds 2 and 3 of the NFL Draft continue tonight in Chicago.
