A 29-year-old is charged with pouring gasoline on another woman and her SUV and trying to set it on fire while the woman's three kids were inside.

The Globe Gazette reports the altercation happened Tuesday morning at a convenience store at 735 Logan Avenue in Waterloo. According to witnesses, Traynetta Brisha Monique Ford put gas in a plastic bottle and poured it on 35-year-old Yoshida Thomas. Court records also show that Ford allegedly made threats on Thomas' life and said she would burn Thomas' kids.

Ford is then accused of pouring gas on the 2004 Dodge Durango Thomas was driving and lit a cigarette lighter near the vehicle. Court records say Thomas was able to get Ford away from the vehicle before the gasoline ignited. All of this while Thomas' three children were in the SUV.

Ford was later arrested after being found in the back of a pickup, where she was hiding. She faces a variety of charges, according to the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office. She's charged with possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of first-degree arson, and two counts of probation violation. She's being held without bond.

According to court records, Ford has told investigators she was furious with Thomas.
