Spring football is here. The University of Iowa kicks off its spring practice on Wednesday, but a few players won't be on the field.

C.J. Beathard, who had surgery during the offseason, is back as QB but not at 100%. Ferentz says he's close to 100% and should be able to practice at full speed.

Players that will not be practicing during spring practice due to medical issues are LB Ben Niemann, RB Derrick Mitchell, and DB Greg Mabin.

The team will once again travel to Des Moines for an evening practice on Friday, April 8th. The Hawks will wrap up practice with the spring game/practice on April 23rd inside Kinnick stadium.
