Raise your hand if you've ever hit a deer with your car.  Is your hand in the air?  Mine is.  With the boom in deer population, comes the greater risk of hitting one with your vehicle.  It should come as no surprise that Iowa ranks high in a new survey that looks at your chances of hitting a deer.

The State Farm Insurance survey found that Iowans have a 1 in 77 chance of hitting a deer.  That was good for 4th in the nation.  Leading the way?  West Virginia with a 1 in 39 chance.  The mid-west is highly represented as you might expect.  Wisconsin and Minnesota are 7th and 8th on the list.  Plus, your chances are going to go UP in the next few months as deer enter their mating season and become even more active.

Looking to move to the state with the lowest chance of hitting a deer?  Pack your bags for Hawaii, where they have a better chance of being struck by lightning, than hitting a deer!
