Iowa High School Football Playoffs First Round Games Are Tonight

Tonight is the first round of the Iowa High School Football Playoffs. Brackets have been eliminated this year as the goal is to have no team traveling more than 125 miles for their first game. The travel restriction will be lifted for round two on Monday, November 3.

The Iowa High School Athletic Association will release the list of second round games early Thursday morning around 12:30 or 1:00 a.m. The list below is all the first round games that will be happening tonight and there are quite a few teams traveling over 100 miles tonight for their first game (and on a school night no less). The IHSAA might want to go back to the drawing board for next year and come up with a better system to try and ensure less travel.
