The sci-fi film Amelia 2.0 will premiere to the world on August 4 in Cedar Rapids' own Collins Road Theatre!

The movie is based on the Theatre Cedar Rapids play THE SUMMERLAND PROJECT, according to a posting on Collins Road Theatres website. It was written by Rob Merritt, produced by Cedar Rapids natives, and filmed right here in CR!

Here's a quick synopsis of the movie from IMDb, "When the husband of a dying woman is approached by a corporation pioneering a new program to extend life through robotics, they get caught in a public debate over human's relationship with technology."

If that alone isn't enough to make you want to see it, check out the movie trailer! You may recognize some of the buildings and landscape. In fact, our own radio station's building made an appearance!

See the full movie at the world premiere at Collins Road Theatres on August, 4 at 7 p.m. Seating is limited, so you'll probably want to purchase your tickets in advance. The cast and crew from the film will even be in attendance! Presale tickets are available through August 3 online for $8. Regular tickets priced at $10.
