This Saturday's game at Kinnick Stadium is going to be HUGE!!! The Game is set for the National Spotlight on ABC with a prime time kickoff at 2:30. Coming to Kinnick Stadium is the Wisconsin Badgers, a team that just completely controlled Nebraska last week. Wisconsin RB Melvin Gordon ran the ball for a new college single game record of 408 yards.

What's at stake besides being a front runner for the Big Ten West Title? The Heartland Trophy! The Heartland Trophy is a brass bull that is presented to the winner of the annual game. Although the rivalry is over 100 years old, the trophy is a relatively new addition. It was first presented in 2004 to Iowa, when they defeated Wisconsin 30–7. The Heartland Game has only been played 8 times since that first game. Because of scheduling in the Big Ten, Iowa & Wisconsin have only played each other 8 times since 2004. Iowa has 4 wins and Wisconsin has 4 win for the trophy. Wisconsin has held it the longest. They won the game in 2010 and then didn't play Iowa till last year so they got to keep the trophy until they play Iowa again in 2013 and won.

Iowa is 7-3 and Wisconsin is 8-2. Two out of the three losses for Iowa this year have involved losing a Trophy. Iowa lost the first trophy this year, the Cy-Hawk Trophy to Iowa State 20-17. Two Weeks ago Iowa lost the Floyd of Rosedale Trophy to Minnesota in an UGLY loss, 51-14.

Iowa needs a trophy and this weekend at Kinnick will be rocking!!! GO HAWKS!!!
