After weeks of speculation, Iowa corner Desmond King confirmed that he will return for his senior season with the Iowa Hawkeye football team. King, the Jim Thorpe Award winner and a consensus All-American, had eight interceptions on the year which tied a school record, was second in the nation and first in the Big 10.

King's mother told The Daily Iowan that King came to her after the Rose Bowl loss to Stanford and told her that he wanted to come back for his senior year and end his career with a bowl win. She said that King informed head coach Kirk Ferentz and defensive coordinator Phil Parker of his intentions Monday as well.
