The chain, which currently has 99 restaurants in 20 states, plans to add one in Iowa City soon.

Mooyah Burgers, Fries, and Shakes usually takes six to nine months to open a restaurant in a town, once the city is chosen. That puts a Mooyah on the fast track for Iowa City.

Vice President of Development Ardag Tachian told the Iowa City Press-Citizen they're "talking to potential franchisees" and are also seeking a location. Why Iowa City? Clearly, it fits the mold of success for the growing chain with Tachian saying they "... really find success when there is a large university in the area. When we're able to reach a well-educated and health-conscious population, over the last five to 10 years, we've had great success."

Mooyah offers made-to-order beef, turkey burgers, black bean burgers, chicken sandwiches, and even burgers wrapped in lettuce, minus the bun. Everything from avocado to onion crisps can be added. Other choices include sweet potato fries, milkshakes, and hand-cut fries. There are still more choices, like this:

...and this!

Enjoy, Iowa City and might we suggest Cedar Rapids too? After all, we've got Coe, Mount Mercy, and Kirkwood!
