Running is not one of the exercises I do on a regular basis. I like to tell people the only way I run, is if I'm being chased by a wild animal and my life is in danger. Then I'll run. The Insane Inflatable 5K sponsored by GoDaddy on Saturday was my first venture into the world of running. What better way to break myself in than a run that also featured fun inflatable obstacles that would make me forget the over 3 miles I was running.

First of all, I was wearing a dress. Yes, an on air bet gone wrong with Courtlin resulted in me wearing an ankle length sparkling number that could only be described as 'Wow!' While it was fun to get looks from people, the dress was not easy to run in. Plus, it made me warm, and trust me when I say I don't need help in that department. When I say that I 'ran' my first 5K I need to clarify. There were parts of it that I ran. My running mate Bob James and I started off on a nice pace, but realized early on that jogging the whole thing just wasn't in the cards. That was the fun thing about the race. You saw plenty of people walking, enjoying the day and having fun in the inflatables. But when we had the finish line in sight, we got a surge of energy, and ran our way to the finish. The inflatables themselves were great. Bouncing, jumping and yes...falling on my butt were all things that happened. But nothing felt better than coming over that last slide at the end and knowing that I had done it.

So, the dress is officially being retired and the Insane Inflatable is returning in 2016! Maybe next year Courtlin should run it wearing a tuxedo. Let's make it happen people.
