THE BRAIN
The Brain hails from the eastern Iowa town of Anamosa. He grew up on a family owned farm in Jones County, and was interested in radio at a young age. He still remembers recording his voice into his Fisher Price tape recorder, and putting on a show for whoever would listen.
Brain got a job his senior year of high school working at the local radio station in Anamosa. He then landed an internship at KHAK his sophmore year of college. He worked his way up the ranks, and landed on the morning show in 1999. Brain teamed up with Steele in January of 2007, forming the entertaining duo you hear every weekday morning!
Brain married his wife Holly in October of 1999, and they make their home in Marion. They are proud parents of Chase, 5, and Carly, 1, born on the same day, four years apart! They have also just welcomed their 3rd child, Cayleigh. In his spare time (like he has any with 3 kids!) Brain enjoys sports of all sorts, including golf, softball, and football. Brain and his son Chase are huge St. Louis Cardinals fans (much to the dismay of Holly, a Cub fan!). He also roots for the Hawks and Packers when it comes to football.
Brain loves eastern Iowa, and thinks that this is THE best place to raise a family. He is very proud to be a part of the K-Hawk family, and looks forward to being with the station for many years to come. (...hey, it's the only full time job he's had!)

STEELE
Scott Steele was born and raised in Illinois. He attended Augustana College in the Quad Cities - graduating in 1992 with two BA degrees. It was there that he got his first taste of radio, working at WAUG - the student run rock station, WVIK - the campus public radio station, and the commercial rock station 97X WXLP. Following his four years at Augustana, Steele attended Illinois State University where he completed his coursework for his Masters of Science degree in Communication. However, the world of radio would call him back and he returned to broadcasting as a morning show producer and on-air talent at 97X WXLP in the Quad Cities. Steele joined the KHAK morning show in 2007 after two successful runs as morning show host on KFMW-FM in Waterloo, IA and KRNA-FM (sister station to KHAK) in Cedar Rapids.
