The little quarter mile high banked race track in Marshalltown will be a buzz tonight as the IMCA Deery Brothers Late Models and the Hawkeye Dirt Tour Modifieds are in action.

Twenty-four previous Deery events have been held at Marshalltown since 1987, the series’ first season. Curt Martin of Independence leads with five wins and seven-time champion, and current point leader, Jeff Aikey of Cedar Falls has won four starts in Marshalltown.

Promoter Toby Kruse told IMCA “We’re pretty excited to have these two series running here the same night. We always look for a perfect fit and I think we’ve found it. There’s a lot of excitement in the air. I think we’re going to have a great night.”

Pit gates will open at 4:30 this afternoon while the grandstand opens at 5. The roar of the engines begins with hot laps at 7 and then racing action. Admission tonight is $15 for adults. Seniors 62-and-over get in for $12 and kids 10 and under are free. Wanna get in the pits tonight? Those passes are $30.
