Iowa’s Maddie Poppe Awesome Again On ‘American Idol’ [WATCH]

It's official: Brain and I are the co-presidents of the Maddie Poppe Fan Club. Ok, maybe not officially, but, gosh darn it, we just love her so much!

Clarksville, Iowa-native Maddie Poppe is doing absolutely amazing on American Idol and tonight we find out her future on the show! Last night, the second half of the top 24 performed their solos, and Maddie was among those contestants. She definitely didn't blend in, though. She sang the 1971 pop song "Brand New Key" for her solo and she SLAYED it:

All three judges seemed to be very impressed by her performance, as was I. At this point, I don't see how she wouldn't make it into the top 14, but I guess we will have to wait and see tonight. Maddie will be performing with singer and songwriter Colbie Caillat for her celebrity duet, and I can't think of a more perfect pairing! At the end of the episode, Maddie will get the final verdict on whether or not she will go on to the live shows next week. We're super confident that she will. So confident, in fact, that we will have Maddie on the show tomorrow morning for another interview! This will be our third time chatting with Maddie since the show began, so I think I'm finally able to say that we are at best friend level. I'm not a creep, I promise.
