I Love the Idea Behind Rumored New Smartphone

The technology behind smartphones is always changing at warp speed and rumor has it a major upgrade could be coming, as early as January.

Imagine a large-screen smartphone that you can fold in half, screen and all! I've carried a Samsung smartphone in my pocket for years and even with a screen protector, scratches are almost unavoidable. That problem would be a whole lot less common if you could fold your phone. Sammobile reports that a Chinese tipster says Samsung is testing just such a phone now and it could hit the market in January of 2016. It would likely debut only in South Korea. Still, if it tests successfully and does become available in that country they'd likely be purchased in mass, hopefully leading to a U.S. arrival sooner rather than later.

A smartphone you can fold... it's like a big ole flip phone on steroids. If they do indeed become available, it'll definitely be time for me to upgrade. How 'bout you?
