For the past 5 or 6 years, our family Christmas tree has lived in a box in our basement. It's a nice artificial tree. 7 feet tall and full of limbs. But this year called for something different. So it was decided that we'd get a real tree in 2016.

We traveled to the Hoffman Tree Farm in Marion and had plenty of trees to choose from. You could either cut your own, or they have plenty of pre-cut trees. It was fairly dark when we arrived, so we decided pre-cut was just fine. But now....what KIND of tree? They had several to choose from, in different price ranges too. Wouldn't you know it that the most expensive ones looked the best? I suppose it all boils down to what kind of needles you want. Because let's face it. With a real tree in the house, you're gonna have needles.

We ended up going with a Frasier Fir. It is tall and not too full and fits perfect in our living room. I have to say, it is the best-looking tree we've ever had. We had fun decorating it over the weekend. Now all we need is for Santa to visit!
