A new study found that 94% of the workforce will do some sort of online shopping today. That's the power of Cyber Monday. Online deals will flood websites and shopping carts, the virtual kind, will be filling up all day. But there are a few things you should remember when shopping online today to keep yourself and others safe.

  • Don't let websites save your information for future purchases. As easy as it may seem, your chances of getting hacked go up. Some sites get hacked and don't know it for months.
  • Be careful of emails that have coupons or links to deals. Just to be safe, you should copy and paste the coupon onto the company website.
  • Even if you're shopping from work, don't use your work email! If the wrong person gets ahold of that info, you not only get hacked but so does your company.
  • Be on the look out for fake package tracking emails over the next several weeks. If you click a banner on a fake one, they could gain access to your computer and your information.

Just a few tips to make Cyber Monday go smoothly! It doesn't matter how much you save if it costs you in the end!
