Home Free are showing their patriotic pride with an uplifting cover of "God Bless the USA."

Independence Day is here again, and in 2016, the celebrated vocal group took the chance to pay tribute to the brave men and women of our military with Lee Greenwood's signature song. Their harmony-laden take on the track is just as relevant today as it was when they first released it.

"We feel very blessed to be able to make music for a living, and we know it's only because we live in a country made great by the sacrifices of others," Home Free's Tim Foust said at the time. "This is our tribute to the brave men and women of the Armed Forces, past and presently serving."

Country Singers Who Have Served in the Military

Greenwood wrote "God Bless the USA" and released it as a single in 1984, hitting No. 7. Over time it has become one of the most beloved songs in country music; it came back to prominence during the Gulf War, and again after the 9/11 attacks as a way of bringing people together.

The five singers in Home Free came up with a beautiful, soaring arrangement that showcases the unique vocal blend that made Home Free one of the most popular vocal groups in the country. They perform the song in front of Mount Rushmore in the video above, which debuted exclusively with Taste of Country in 2016.
