Last weekend we made a trip to Florence, KY, just on the other side of the river from Cincinnati, OH. A nice 7.5 hour easy drive trip but one thing we noticed was the gas price difference from State to State. Usually Iowa is one of the States with the lowest gas prices and Illinois is known to be higher. We found it to be just the opposite. Gas prices here in Cedar Rapids are around $2.53 to $2.59 a gallon. When we traveled through Illinios, we found the price to actually drop to $2.28. Indiana was also lower than Iowa at $2.39. In Cincinnati, OH/Florence, KY area was very similiar to Iowa. It's a busy big city and we expected the price to be higher, but they were still a cent lower than Iowa at $2.52 a gallon.

Unless you're like us and a member of a shopping club or gas card club, you're going to pay that $2.55 a gallon average. I just paid $2.34 a gallon here in Cedar Rapids on Monday.
