Here’s a Great Spot for New Pool Construction

Now that the outdoor swimming season is over and the pools are shut down, here's an autumnal thought about a great spot for a new waterpark and/or pool upgrade.

This Marion pool has served the community well over the years, but an upgrade at that location would be sweet. There's a lot of unused real estate on the property if the city wanted to expand out a bit and make a big Noelridge-like complex.

Parking might be an issue, as there isn't a whole lot of room for a big lot, but the downward slope of the site south of the pool is conducive to a dirt fill and a great new complex. It's brought fun memories for Marionites, but these days you really have to dazzle the swimmers with a modern layout.  Sooner or later, one of the highest "wealth-per-capita cities" in Iowa will demand it.
