Heavy Rains Hit Des Moines

For the most part, Eastern Iowa has been spared of the heavy rains the past 3 days. Des Moines hasn't been s lucky.

Southeast Iowa, and especially the Des Moines metro area have been hit hard. Some areas of the capital city have received two to three inches of rain. The Iowa State Fairgrounds has especially been hit hard. Two big couple of nights of racing had been planned but as the photo above shows, the tunnel that goes under the speedway has tons of water. Tall trucks are able to fit in this tunnel. Not so much now. Des Moines is under a Flash Flood Warning due to all the rain.
