It's been 39 years since the last Minnesota Vikings outdoor playoff game at home. Sunday's game against Seattle could be their coldest ever at home. Temperatures are projected to top out at zero degrees on Sunday in Minneapolis and possibly colder.

In the 70's, the Vikings were "the team" in the NFC North Division and played many playoff games in the old Metropolitan outdoor stadium. The old Metropolitan Stadium used to sit where "The Mall Of America" now sits. The Vikings last outdoor home playoff game was December 26th, 1976. It was the NFC Championship Game against the Los Angeles Rams where the Vikings won 24-13. From 1977 through 1981, the Vikings playoff games were on the road.

The Vikings moved into the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in 1982 and played there till 2013. The Vikings currently play at the University of Minnesota's TCF Bank Stadium. The Vikings new indoor stadium, U.S. Bank Stadium, is scheduled to open this July.

The game will be on NBC Sunday at noon.
