Hawkeyes Ranked in Top 25

For the first time since 2010, the Iowa Hawkeye Football team is ranked in the Top 25. Following their win against Wisconsin Saturday, Iowa enters the A.P. poll at #22 and are #23 in the U.S.A Today Coaches Poll. The Hawks also brought home their second rivalry trophy of 2015, The Heartland Trophy, which should like nice sitting next to the Cy-Hawk Trophy they won against Iowa State. Yes, Iowa football is back.

Now comes the real test. Exceeding expectations was the easy part. Ask anyone, and they're lying if they say the thought Iowa would be 5-0 at this point in the season. A homecoming matchup versus Illinois this weekend has many predicting a 6-0 record. But then what? Will this be a case of a team fully ascending into national prominence? Or, will it fade down the stretch leaving fans to wonder what might have been. Looking at the remaining schedule, I just can't see this team winning fewer than 9 games. Iowa doesn't play heavy weights Ohio State or Michigan State this year. They don't even get Jim Harbaugh's Michigan squad. You have to take advantage when the schedule is in your favor.

So hop back on the band waggon! Iowa football is back!
