The Iowa men's basketball team may not have gotten as far in the NCAA tournament as they wanted, but they did accomplish something big in 2016. Iowa finished the season ranked at #25 in the final USA Today/coaches poll. It's the first time in 10 years Iowa has finished the season ranked in the top 25.

Iowa beat Temple in the first round of the NCAA Tournament before being beat by eventual National Champion Villanova. The Hawks finished the year with a record of 22-11.

Iowa State finished the year ranked #15. The Cyclones advanced to the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA Tournament with wins over Iona and Arkansas Little Rock before losing to Virginia.

The UNI Panthers recieved votes in the poll after their wild March ride. The Panthers beat Texas on a buzzer beater before losing to Texas A&M.
