Iowa senior guard Melissa Dixon, who became the first Big Ten player in history to lead the nation in 3-pointers per game, will be showing off her long-range abilities Thursday night on ESPN.

Dixon is one of eight women from around the nation who will take part in the 3-point shooting contest. She's got a very legitimate shot at winning it too. Melissa was second in the Big Ten in 3-point shooting percentage at 45.1, on 124 of 275 shooting. She holds the record at Iowa for made 3-pointers in a career (334), season (124), and game (10). Cheer her on during the ESPN-televised event Thursday night from 6 to 8, Iowa time.

We'll miss Melissa, and clearly she'll miss Iowa as well:
