Hawkeye Men Demolish Penn State

The Iowa men's basketball team won their ninth Big Ten game of the season tonight at Carver-Hawkeye Arena and three seniors led the way as one set a career mark in the process.

Iowa (9-1 in the Big Ten and 18-4 overall) defeated Penn State 73-49, after leading 45-26 at the break. Iowa had three players in double figures, led by senior Jarrod Uthoff with 14. Senior Anthony Clemmons and junior Peter Jok each had a dozen. Center Adam Woodbury had a huge game on the boards. He set a career-high with 15 rebounds, four more than his previous best. Thirteen of the rebounds came on the defensive end of the court... the most by a Hawkeye in 10 years.

Senior guard Anthony Clemmons also had a great night with 12 points, six rebounds, four assists, and one steal.

Senior Jarrod Uthoff also had a standout performance with 14 points, three rebounds and FOUR blocked shots.

Penn State's offense struggled mightily, going just 1-20 from three-point range. None of Iowa's starters played more than 27 minutes, and 14 different players saw action for the Hawkeyes. Iowa hits the road for Champaign, Illinois to take on the Fighting Illini on Sunday. Illinois is 11-12 overall and 3-7 in the Big Ten after beating Rutgers on the road tonight, 110-101.
