We've lost another actor who made quite an impact on a generation.  Ralph Waite, John Walton Sr. on the long-running television show 'The Waltons', has passed away at the age of 85.  We never missed the show at our house the last few years it was on.  My parents may very well have watched it from day one...I was a little young to remember.  I bet they did though, as they still watch re-runs today.  Ralph Waite and Michael Landon (Charles Ingalls on 'Little House on the Prairie') were probably two television dads that I bet a lot of men tried to emulate.

Tonight, undoubtedly many people will say a special goodnight to everyone in their home, as they remember the way 'The Waltons' ended each week (above).  That in itself will be a tribute to the man who decided he had to make changes in his personal life when he took the role.  He explains in the video below.  May you rest in peace Ralph.  Goodnight.
