When we bought our house, over eight years ago, there was one thing that stuck out like a sore thumb to me.... the oven/stove.  This relic looked like it might have been the original cooking device installed by the cavemen.  The solid hunks of metal that would heat up on the stove would do so quickly, but literally take HOURS to cool down.  And it just looked....well...it looked old and incredibly out of date.  The brand was Magic Chef - I think I saw them give one away just like this on a 1965 re-run of Let's Make A Deal on the Game Show Network just the other day.

Since then, the oven/stove and I have gotten along pretty well (except for a few times when I've put a towel or something on the hunk of blazing hot metal on the stove that STILL has not cooled).  We've made some (if I do say so myself) fantastic meals - the pictures below prove that.  Today we get a new range - flat top...state of the art.  I am excited, yet apprehensive.  This new guy has A LOT to live up to.
