We'd like to join the Cedar Rapids Community School District in passing along a big THANK YOU to everyone who donated gloves and/or mittens at the Cedar Rapids Theisen's locations during the last half of December.  Our "Gloves of Love" campaign was a big success with more than 150 pairs donated to area school children.  We turned them over to the district this morning at the Educational Leadership and Support Center on Edgewood Road and Deputy Superintendent Mary Ellen Maske told us these donations are very important for the district's teachers, especially at recess time.  And with the weather we've had so far this winter, we're sure they'll continue to come in handy perhaps until the kids get out in June.  Let's hope it doesn't take that long for it to warm up...  Thank you again for joining us in keeping the hands of area kids warm and warming their hearts too, by showing that so many people care.
