If you're anything like me, you don't mind the news that our first frost of the year is coming tonight. The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for the listening area with temperatures dipping to below 32 degrees. The warning is from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday morning.

Obviously, you need to get any plants that you don't want dead into a warmer environment. You may also be able to get away with covering some vegetation as well. But the good part about the first freeze? If you suffer from allergies and hate bugs, the frost could provide relief there as well.

I love a cold and crisp fall morning. Something about the sun rising and bouncing light off of the little crystals of ice that make it officially feel like fall. Cover those plants!
