The King of Country Music, George Strait, has announced that though he's retired from the road, he's going to be performing in the Entertainment Capital of the World.

"Strait to Vegas" was announced at a press conference at noon today, Iowa time. George won't be taking up a personal onstage residence in Las Vegas. Instead, he'll be doing four shows next year at the brand new Las Vegas Arena with special guest Kacey Musgraves. The shows will be held April 22nd and 23rd and September 9th and 10th. Tickets go on-sale October 2nd here.

Garth Brooks, Shania Twain and Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have all done Vegas residencies in the past. Currently, Reba McEntire and Brooks & Dunn are doing one now at Caesars Palace. In October, The Judds begin a run at The Venetian. George won't be doing that, though... at least not for now.

More than 104,000 fans saw George perform the final show on his 'The Cowboy Rides Away' Tour last year at AT&T Stadium and these Vegas shows will undoubtedly be a hot ticket.

It was also announced that George, already with 68 million records sold and 60 #1 songs in his illustrious career, will release a new album, "Cold Beer Conversation," this Friday exclusively at Walmart and Apple Music.
