Summertime is here which usually means higher gas prices. Across the state, they're trending upward but locally we've avoided the increases, so far.

In the Cedar Rapids area, gas prices have remained steady with the average price 2.19 a gallon. Across the state, the average price of gasoline has jumped by six cents over the past two weeks to $2.37 a gallon for regular gas. That jump can be attributed to an increase in crude oil prices. In some areas, prices at the pump have risen 60 cents over the past 15 weeks.

According to GasBuddy.com, these are the averages around the state:

Cedar Rapids: $2.19
Iowa City $2.29
Waterloo $2.25
Des Moines $2.54
Mason City $2.51
Davenport $2.15
