Wanna get people fired up?  Talk about gas prices.  Lately, the news on prices has been good here in the corridor.  Prices fell to well below three dollars a gallon, and the national average is now just above the three dollar mark.  Why the dip?  The price of crude oil.  At the end of trading Friday, the price of a barrel was near $80, down 20% since the beginning of summer.  But how long will the dip last?

We've already seen an answer to that.  After prices in the Cedar Rapids metro area went as low as $2.80, the price spiked back up last week to just under three dollars a gallon.  Yes, still below the national average, but much higher than other parts of Iowa.  I've never understood the difference in prices in our area, from say, Davenport or Waterloo.  Are we on a different pipeline?

The good news?  Reports state that prices look like they'll remain stable through the winter, with prices hanging around the three dollar mark.  Whats the cheapest gas you've purchased this fall?  Do you think prices will go back up, or continue to fall?
