You've probably noticed the price of gas slowly trickling down lately. Most stations in the metro area are around $2.50 a gallon. But those prices could go a lot lower and soon. Oil prices have continued to plunge world wide, but the price of gas hasn't fallen as fast. Analysts say that is because gas stations are still selling the more expensive summer blend of fuel. They're required to sell that through September 15th to meet environmental standards. But once the winter blend is made available prices at the pump could go way down. How far? One expert says that if crude prices stay where they are now, at around $45 dollars a barrel, gas prices could drop 60 to 70 cents a gallon. Yes, $2 a gallon gasoline...or cheaper! The same thing happened last year. Here's hoping for a repeat in 2015!
