Decades into his music career, Garth Brooks continues to make career firsts.

On Wednesday (July 27), it was announced that Brooks will headline a concert at the Ryman Auditorium for the very first time. Brooks will partner with SiriusXM to launch his SiriusXM station the Garth Channel, with an invitation-only concert for SiriusXM listeners.

“Just the thought of playing the Ryman is crazy. The fact that SiriusXM is going to capture the evening makes it even a bigger event for me,” Brooks said in a press release.

The private concert will air live on Sept. 8 on SiriusXM’s the Garth Channel, channel 55, and through the SiriusXM app as well as online at siriusxm.com.

“It will be a special moment for Garth at the Ryman, and we are excited to present this one-of-a-kind performance to our national listening audience. As Garth is showing on his current tour, he holds nothing back, and for him to play the Mother Church of Country Music will be a treasured moment for his many fans,” said Scott Greenstein, President and Chief Content Officer, SiriusXM.

SiriusXM subscribers who have had an account since July 11 will have the opportunity to enter to win tickets to Brooks’ concert beginning today by a radio call-in opportunity and tomorrow (July 28), by online entry.

Brooks is set to launch the Garth Channel on Sept. 8 — the 24/7 station will be curated by the singer himself. Brooks’ radio channel will include music from the singer’s four-decade career, as well as songs from the artists who have influenced him. Additionally, the Garth Channel will find Brooks offering behind-the-scenes commentary and sharing with fans live concert recordings and other music from his archives.
