Free Kids Home Run Derby With the Kernels

Perfect baseball weather, give or take a few drops of rain, awaits us this week, as the Kernels bring a 5-game home stand to Perfect Game Field.

Games 1-3 are against South Bend Tuesday, May 1 through Thursday, May 4, followed by a trio of games against West Michigan, each starting at 6:35 p.m. Sunday, May 6, is another Kids Eat Free and Run The Bases Sunday. The game starts at 2:05.

A slight change is being made this Sunday when it comes to the Run the Bases promotion. The usual post-game fun includes the chance to run the bases, play catch on the field, and meet and get autographs from the Kernel players. That will return and continue throughout the season.

This Sunday only, it is being replaced by something equally fun (and free): stick around at the end of the game for a FREE kids' home run derby!

Again, registration for the Chuck Fulton home run derby is free and is open to kids 12 and under. The first 125 entries will also receive a free t-shirt. Trophies and awards will be presented in four different age groups.

You may pick up registration forms at the Bimm Ridder Diamond Shop or Servpro Guest Services at Veteran's Memorial Stadium on game day.
