The 2017 Iowa State Fair kicks off August 10 and though the grandstand will again feature some big country shows, there's plenty to love about the free stages.

There's one stage, especially, that has some newcomers who have already made major marks on country music. The Susan Knapp Amphitheater will feature Brett Young, who has already hit #1 twice. He topped the chart with "Sleep Without You," and he's done it again with his latest single, which I absolutely LOVE. It's called "In Case You Didn't Know." His show is August 14 at 8 p.m.

Chris Lane will grace the stage two nights later, on August 16, at 8 p.m. His hit, "Fix" was a #1 song and he's trying to do it again with, "For Her." I'm betting it happens.

Carly Pearce, who has climbed into the Top 25 with her song "Every Little Thing," will hit the stage on August 18, at 8 p.m.

Waterloo Revival, Drake White, and Lanco, who have all made their own marks on the charts, will also perform. Their shows are the 11th, 17th, and 20th, respectively. They all begin at 8 except for Lanco's show, on the final night of the fair, which begins at 7:30.

One of my favorite groups from the 80's and early 90's, Restless Heart, will also grace the same free stage. Their performance is August 15.
