Ninety-six percent of parents and caregivers think their child safety seat(s) are properly installed. The percentage that actually have it right is alarmingly low.

Unfortunately, research shows that at least 70 percent of children are not properly restrained with some saying the number is actually over 80 percent! This Saturday (May 2nd) the Marion Police and Fire Departments are going to help you get it right.

Saturday from 10am to 1pm, a certified child safety seat technician will be at Fire Station No. 2 at 3933 Katz Drive, in Marion. The safety check is free and you should bring your vehicle, child safety and/or booster seat, as well as the owner's manual for your vehicle and the seat itself. They also suggest you bring the child that sits in each one.

Please take advantage of this free opportunity to help keep your kids, or those you care for, safe.
