Is your child sitting in the right kind of car seat? Is it the right size? Did you install it correctly? These are all questions that many first time parents have, as do many others whose kids are growing out of their car seat. Fortunately, you can get everything checked out at a child seat safety check on Saturday in Marion.

The free safety check will happen at Marion Fire Station #2, directly across from the Marion Post Office, at 3933 Katz Drive. Parents are encouraged to bring your vehicle, child safety or booster seat, owners manual for the vehicle and seat, and your child. A certified technician will check your seat and let you know if it is installed correctly and if it is the right seat for your child.

It is estimated that 73% of car seats are used incorrectly, and 1 in 3 children are riding in the wrong sized seat! The proper use of safety seats will reduce the risk of death in infants by 71% and older children by 54%.

Get your seats checked for free Saturday. It just might save your child's life.
