Former NASCAR Driver Mike Wallace and his daughter are recovering after getting jumped and beaten after a Rascal Flatts concert in North Carolina over the weekend.

In a phone interview, Wallace told the Charlotte Observer "three men he has never met repeatedly punched and kicked him and his daughter. We’ve never been through anything like this."

It happened as the Wallace's were walking back to their vehicle after the show when they were jumped by three men. “They just knocked me out,” Wallace said. “When I came to, my daughter and son-in-law were on the ground trying to protect me. "They were kicking me, beating on me.”

According to public records, the three men; 24-year-old Randolph Mangum of Monroe and Nathan Lucas, 22, of Indian Trail were charged with simple assault. Twenty-nine-year-old Paul Lucas was charged with assault on a female. All three men were released after posting $1,000 bond each and are scheduled to appear in court July 22.

"What's worse is three of guys that beat my family up were arrested and out of jail before we were out of the hospital," Mike Wallace posted on Facebook.

Mike Wallace is the younger brother to Rusty and Kenny Wallace. The Wallace families are originally from Missouri and all three have raced all around Iowa and locally at Hawkeye Downs.
