Former Iowa Hawkeye tight end Dallas Clark is officially retiring from the NFL.  Clark made it official today, ending an 11 year career in the National Football League.  Clark spent 9 of those season with the Indianapolis Colts, and was on the Indy team that won Super Bowl XLI.  Clark also spent one season with Tampa Bay, and last year with the Baltimore Ravens.

Clark played at Iowa from 1999 through 2002.  He was awarded the John Mackey Award in 2002 at the nation's top collegiate tight end, and was a first team All American.  He helped lead Iowa to an 11-2 record that year and the Big Ten Championship.  The Colts made him their first round draft choice.

My favorite Dallas Clark memory?  Fall of 2002.  Iowa versus Purdue.  Game on the line.

An all time Hawkeye, and an 11 year run in the pros, and a Super Bowl ring.  Dallas Clark had nothing left to prove.
